Welcome to the Goodridge House!
William: "Hello, Margaret, I have been waiting for you. Samuel told me of your presence in York yesterday. We have to be very careful... you could be in great danger."
Margaret: "Are there people looking for me?"
Goodridge: "Yes, there's a man after you by the name of Edward Prigg. He has been all over town questioning just about everyone. He is quite persistent."
Margaret: "Okay, so we should not move during the daylight or we will be caught."
Goodridge: "You also cannot stay here for too long because he is close on your tail. As a black resident of York, it will not be long until he comes searching."
Margaret: "Okay, I won't stay too long."
It's nice to have a suitable place for Margaret to place her head. A pillow feels like heaven, and this place seems extremely safe. William Goodridge has been known far and wide as the conductor that you want to find in York County. William is fairly worried, though, that Edward Prigg might not be very far behind. So, what will you choose to do? Your options are to either stay two nights or leave the next evening.
